Measured before and after
Found by January.
Right now, when somebody around here asks ChatGPT who to call, there’s a decent chance it isn’t saying your name. I fix the reasons why, and I measure it before and after so you can see whether it worked.
Why now and not in March
Your busiest month is already on the calendar.
Everybody’s sending contractors “winter is slow, let’s do some marketing” emails right now. For two of the biggest trades around here, that’s backwards.
HVAC
December runs about two and a half times a normal month nationally. Your second biggest of the year, and it’s 90 days out.
Plumbing
January is your single biggest month. Whatever’s true about your visibility in October is still true when it lands.
Roofing
Hurricane season runs to the end of November, and “who do I call for roof damage” is the highest value question typed here.
None of this updates overnight. Schema gets read on a crawl schedule, directories take weeks to reconcile, and content needs time to get picked up. Seasonality figures: Foundry CRO, 2026 Home Services Marketing Benchmarks by Trade.
What’s actually going wrong
It’s almost never about how good you are.
I measured 64 Wilmington home service companies. Three engines, 72 questions apiece, web search on every one. The thing that surprised me is how little the results had to do with the quality of anybody’s work.
1,620 reviews, a perfect 5.0, named 6 times out of 72. A roofer with 33 reviews got named 29 times out of the same 72. Same questions, same engines, same week. Reputation and AI visibility are separate systems, and being excellent at one does nothing for the other.
And the four usual causes are all fixable in a month. No contact form at all, on 21 of the 64 sites. No tap-to-call above the fold, on 26 more. A slow page: the average load time across all 64 was thirteen seconds, and the worst was fifty-seven. And a business name spelled three different ways across the internet, so the assistants read you as three different companies.
What actually gets done
A named list of things, not a block of hours.
Every item here either happens or it doesn’t, and you can check each one yourself. I measure before I touch anything, and again at 30 days.
Baseline scan, recorded
ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, many times over, varied by phrasing and neighborhood. Written down before a single thing changes.
A contact form that actually works
Built or repaired, then tested from a phone on cell data, with submissions going somewhere you genuinely check.
Tap-to-call above the fold
Visible without scrolling. 78% of homeowners hire whoever answers first, and a number somebody has to hunt for is a number they don’t call.
Schema and sameAs
Organization markup linking your site to your Google Business Profile and every other profile, so the assistants can tell who you are.
llms.txt and llms-full.txt
A clean, machine readable version of what your business is and where it works, served for the crawlers that read for AI answers.
Google Business Profile, matched
Categories, services, hours, photos. Name, address and phone identical everywhere they appear.
The three fixes from your own report
Yours, not a checklist. They come out of what your baseline scan actually found.
Full rescan at 30 days
Same questions, same engines, same method. A two page before-and-after, yours to keep either way.
The guarantee
If the number hasn’t moved, the next month is free.
If your appearance rate hasn’t improved between the day 1 baseline and the day 30 rescan, the first month of Visibility Care is free and you can walk away with everything I built. I can offer that because I own the measurement: I built the scanner, the baseline is recorded before anything changes, and “moved” isn’t a matter of opinion.
What I won’t promise: that you’ll be number one, or a specific percentage, or a number of leads. Nobody controls that. What I’ll promise is measurement you can check and movement you can verify.
Who’s actually doing this
Me. No salesperson, no hand-off.
I’m Erin. I run Get Coastal Built out of Wilmington, and I built the scanner that produces your number, because nobody was measuring this locally and I wanted to know. You get me on the call, and I’m the one doing the work you’re paying for. It also means I can only take a few of these at a time.
Your site, your data and every scan I’ve ever run for you are yours and exportable, any time. Nothing about this locks you in. I’ll run your scan before we ever talk, so the call is me showing you your real number and the three things I’d fix first. If you take that list and never speak to me again, that’s a completely fine outcome and the list still works.
Day 31
Then it gets maintained, because otherwise it drifts.
Visibility Care starts the day after the setup work is done. $697 a month, month to month, 30 days’ notice, no term. A site I fix and then never look at again is a site that quietly breaks.
Every month
A full rescan on the 1st, a two page written report on the 3rd, two fixes shipped live by the 20th. Your contact form tested from a phone.
Every quarter
A look at your three closest competitors, so you know who is winning the questions you are not, and why.
The honest math
At a $124 blended cost per lead for roofing, $697 is about five and a half leads a month, and one $8,000 roof covers eleven months of it.
Questions
The ones people actually ask.
What even is an appearance rate?
The percentage of times an AI assistant names your company when somebody asks for a recommendation in your trade and your area. I ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the same question over and over, varying the wording and the neighborhood, and count how often you come up. Every assumption behind it is published, so you can poke holes in the method if you want to.
Can you guarantee I’ll be number one?
No, and neither can anybody else. Nobody outside those companies controls what an assistant says. What I guarantee is movement in your own number between the day 1 baseline and the day 30 rescan. If it has not moved, your first month of Visibility Care is free.
What does it cost?
From $1,500, one time, priced by the pages that need changes: $1,500 up to 10 pages, $2,400 up to 25, and from $3,600 for larger or more complex sites. I run your baseline first, so you are quoted the tier before any work starts. Visibility Care follows from day 31 at $697 a month, month to month, 30 days’ notice.
Is this only for Wilmington?
It started with Wilmington, because that is where I measured 64 home service companies. The fix works anywhere. The baseline is run against your own town and your own trade.
