What you're actually buying

Three things, and all three have to work.

Most websites do the first one and quietly fail the other two. That's why they look fine and do nothing.

01 · Get found

People can find you at all

Clean structure, real page titles, schema, fast load, mobile first. The groundwork that lets Google rank you and lets ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI understand what you do well enough to name you.

02 · Catch it

The interest turns into a message

Every form wired to a real inbox and tested before you launch. Tap-to-call that works on a phone. Booking that lands on your actual calendar. No silent failures, which are more common than anyone admits.

03 · Keep it

It still works six months from now

A site that launched perfect in March can quietly stop being findable by September. Forms break. Listings drift. AI answers change. Somebody has to be watching, and that somebody can be me.

The part that changed

Your customers stopped typing keywords into a search bar. They started asking a question out loud and taking the first answer they're given.

If your site is a pile of divs a language model can't parse, you're not in that answer. You're not ranked badly. You're not there. And you will never see it happen, because nobody bounces off a page they were never shown.

I would have made a hell of a detective. Turns out the wins were always hiding in the details.

In every build, no upcharge

The groundwork isn't an add-on. It's the job.

Most shops either skip the AI-search half or bill it separately. I do both halves on every build and tell you exactly what they were.

SEO groundwork

  • Semantic HTML and a real heading structure
  • Titles and meta descriptions written per page
  • Alt text on every image
  • sitemap.xml and robots.txt
  • Under two seconds to load on a phone
  • Redirects preserved on any rebuild

AEO groundwork

  • Organization, LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ schema
  • AI crawler access configured, not accidentally blocked
  • Business name and listings made consistent everywhere
  • Pages structured to answer questions, not just hold keywords
  • llms.txt, because it costs me ten minutes

And it actually works

  • Every form submitted and confirmed before launch
  • Two rounds of revisions
  • 30 days of fixes after you go live
  • You own the domain, the code, and the accounts

One honest note, since everyone's selling this right now: most of what gets marketed as AI optimization is good fundamental SEO wearing a new name. The groundwork genuinely helps and it's included. What actually separates a real service from a rebranded one is whether anyone ever shows you the number afterward. That part's below.

Pricing

Pick a size. Then make it yours.

Timelines scale with the build, and the clock starts the day your content lands, not the day you pay. Most of the delay in a website build is waiting on the person who ordered it, and I'd rather say that up front than be annoyed about it later.

How it works

Four steps. Ten to twenty business days.

Ten for a three-page Starter, fifteen for a Signature, twenty for a full Site + System. Every one of those clocks starts the same place.

01

You send me your stuff

Logo, photos, page copy, and domain access, against a checklist I send you. The clock starts when that checklist is complete, not when you pay.

02

Show me the vibe

Send me a site you love the look of. Colors, energy, whatever it is you keep coming back to. I'd rather copy your taste than guess at it.

03

I build and optimize

Custom code with the SEO and AEO groundwork baked in. Schema on every page. You get a private preview partway through so nothing is a surprise.

04

You go live

Two revisions, domain connected, forms tested, submitted to Google. Then 30 days where every fix is on me.

Two things that keep this honest in both directions.

You get two business days to send feedback on each revision round, so the build never stalls waiting on an inbox. And if your content isn't ready on the date we agreed, the project moves to my next opening instead of getting crammed into a shorter window. I'd rather reschedule you than rush your site.

I take four builds at a time. That's what makes these dates real instead of aspirational.

Recent work

Sites I built by hand.

My own site scores 99, 100, 100, 97 on the exact audit I'd run on yours. I'll show you the report.

Questions? I figured.

The ones I actually get asked.

How do you compare to an agency?

A small agency will quote you five to twelve thousand for a five page site and take six to eight weeks, because you're paying for a project manager, a designer, a developer, and the meetings between them. You get one person who does all three, so it costs less and moves faster. What you give up is bench depth. If you need a team of six, hire a team of six.

What do you mean by SEO and AEO ready?

SEO is the groundwork that lets Google find and rank you: real titles and meta descriptions, clean URLs, a sitemap, optimized images, mobile-first layout, fast load, semantic HTML. AEO is the newer half, and it's what lets AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI understand and cite your business: a full schema graph, crawler access, consistent listings, and pages structured to answer real questions instead of just holding keywords. Both are in every build at no extra charge. Most shops either skip the AEO half or bill it separately.

Does optimizing for AI search actually work?

Partly, and I'll be straight about which parts. Most of what gets sold as AI optimization is good fundamental SEO with a new name. The groundwork genuinely helps, and it's included. What actually separates a real service from a rebranded one is measurement, because almost nobody shows a client whether they appear in ChatGPT or Perplexity when someone asks a buying question. That's what Visibility Care does. If someone quotes you a big one-time fee for AI optimization with no ongoing measurement attached, ask them what they'll show you in month two.

How fast are we talking?

It depends on the size. A three-page Starter is 10 business days. A five or six page Signature is 15. A full Site + System is 20. Every one of those clocks starts when your content is complete against the checklist I send you, not when you pay.

I quote it that way because most of the delay in a website build is waiting on the person who ordered it, and I'd rather tell you that up front than be annoyed about it later. If you need a hard calendar date regardless of when your content lands, that's a rush and it adds 25 percent.

What happens if my content is late?

Your project moves to my next opening. It does not get squeezed into a shorter build window, because that's how a site ends up half-finished and everybody ends up annoyed. I take four builds at a time, so if you slip past your date the next slot is usually a couple of weeks out.

Same rule going the other direction: you get two business days to send feedback on each revision round. If I'm the one holding things up, that's on me and I'll say so.

What if I need more or fewer pages?

Starter covers up to 3 pages and Signature covers 5 to 6, which is the right size for most small businesses. Beyond that, extra pages are $400 each. You can also add copywriting, a logo, blog setup, or integrations one at a time, so you're only paying for the parts you actually need.

Can I update the site myself after?

On a custom-coded build, small changes come to me and they're covered under Site Care. If it matters to you that anyone on your team can log in and edit a page, say so up front and I'll build it on Squarespace or WordPress instead. That's $1,000 more, because building something to be handed off cleanly takes longer than building it for myself, and it comes with training and written documentation.

What does it cost to keep it running?

Hosting & Care is $97 a month and it's required on sites I host, because I'm carrying the hosting, SSL, domain, backups and security patching for you. Site Care at $397 adds small content changes and monthly form testing. Visibility Care at $797 adds AI search tracking and the monthly report. 30 days notice to cancel any of them.

What if I already have a site?

I rebuild it. I keep what works, fix what doesn't, and restructure it so both Google and AI search can read it. Rebuilds cost the same as a new build, never less, because inheriting someone else's content decisions and redirects is more work than starting clean, not less.

Someone is asking an AI right now who does what you do.

Let's make sure your name is in the answer. Tell me about your business and I'll tell you honestly whether this is the right fit. If it isn't, I'll say so.
